Grandma celebrated her 91st birthday on Friday Sept. 28th!

The girls were really excited to see her, Chloe picked her favorite most sparkly outfit for the occasion.

Grandma looked great, i think she had a great time watching the girls going wild in her little apartment.

Auntie Brenda, Uncle Don and Amy's dad were there and we had a wonderful afternoon.

As always, the traditional favorite meal Grandma has on her birthday is Pizza and Cake!

My business partner Scott Jangro and I usually take the opportunity to make a trip to Karma Coffee Roasters in Sudbury MA (link below) to meet and talk business, over a great cup of coffee and to come home with 1lb each of coffee (whole beans).

My favorite coffee has been Ethiopian Sidamo. It produces a nice amount of cream and has a chocolate/mocha flavor which i love at breakfast.

That doesn't help us feeling any younger! Happy birthday Google!

This is new, but for past couple weeks, the bedtime routine for the youngest of my 2 daughters has turned into a circus show.

Yes, we knew at the crib to toddler bed transition could be crazy, as soon as they discover they can actually get out of bed, and out of the bedroom, it's a battle to put them back to bed sometimes up to 10 times a night, until they fall asleep.

With Claire, the crib to toddler bed transition went actually well. We made a big deal out of it, she was getting a "big girl bed" and she loved it. She'd actually run to her bed at night to lay down, and would fall asleep in a matter of minutes.

This lasted several weeks.

All a of sudden and following a week of being sick, sneezing, coughing all night long and calling for our help, her sleep patterns got derailed. Completely derailed.

For the following week, she would wake in the middle of the night, several times a night, just totally awake! "I want to watch a movie!" at 3AM... "Yes and what else? Go back to bed!"

Finally things settled down. But something new started. She would not go to bed. She would get out of a her bedroom after bedtime, several times in a row. Then one night, she finally stayed in her bedroom (after getting up only a few times...) passed out, on the floor!

Since then, and it's been a good week+, Claire doesn't go to bed, she falls to sleep on the floor.

So every night around 9-9:30pm, my wife transitions her from floor to bed, where she finally sleeps through the night again.

And now, we need to work on getting her back to her bed at bedtime, one step at a time.

I watched the couple seasons of Louie (FX network) several weeks ago, and i just found Louis hilarious. It's not for everyone, watch the language...!

We went at the Schartner Farms which is 10mn from home, very convenient and fun!

We had to carry Claire half way through the maze and Chloe was a great leader, she even got us to the finish on her own.

This is always a fun time. This year this event took place at the Street Fair took place at the Algonquin High School, which was actually much better, spacier than the previous years in Northboro center. The downside is that there was no parade.

And thanks to the EEE, night activities were canceled.

The girls had a blast: bunnies, face painting, watching live martial arts and dancers, jumped in the firetruck and a bouncing house that almost crushed down a dozen of kids :-)

I have been riding more complex routes than i ever did before , mostly during the week ends when time allows me to, long hours on the saddle at least one day a week where i can include lots of climbs and when possible long climbs to build strength and endurance.

I rode a few times to Mount Wachusett this year, it's a beautiful ride all the way to the Summit, and challenging route. At this point, i have been over there 4 times.

So this week, i wanted to test myself back on climbs close to my house to see how much my training has increased my performance, through climbs i am used to, where i have pushed myself pretty hard into earlier this year and for which i have benchmarks.

Today, i am happily surprised to see that the hard work is paying off.

Flowers look the best they have looked all year long...

Funny thing: she came home crying (just woke up) and then had a bathroom incident... Lol.

This such a cool idea.

I installed it and tested it and it worked pretty well.

Many people could be using it, it could even be a life saver in certain conditions, to monitor somebody having all of a sudden some medical issues.

For me, it's a fun way to keep an eye on my heart rate when resting.

That was fun! I was finally able to climb it up today.

The route to the bottom was fantastic, but windy. Made the way back a lot easier with the wind in the back.

The climb took me around 18mn, there is some areas to recuperate a bit, followed by steep climbs.

I enjoyed every bit of it, and the view at the top was amazing on a clear blue sky day.

I am not going to lie, i had tears watching the trailer and most particularly reading about Andy's last time talking to his 2 little angels, one day before he passed away.

I watched a few shows and it's really good. Good discussions around SEO, mobile, local... learnt a few things.

Last summer when I started working on Undrip, I was in a tough spot. I grew up doing web and graphic design so I was a pretty good front-end developer and designer. But I knew nothing about back-end web development – loops, branches dictionaries or functions were all foreign concepts to me. I was a single founder who couldn't code. Against the Odds Every week I get emails from entrepreneurs seeking my advice asking how I did it before, and how I'm doing it now. They find themselves in similar situations in that they're looking to build a tech startup with little to no technical skills. They're frustrated by their inability to make forward progress and they usually either give up and fail, or outsource if they have some extra cash (which usually leads to failure). If you're a single founder who can't code, your chances for startup success are near zero. However, there's still a chance. And a chance is all you need.

It only took me a year but under the motivation to see friends ridingtheir bikes got me back on the saddle. Rusty, yes but after a hour to could feel the pedal stroke coming back. The 39x16 felt like 53x17 andclimbs where I used to use it, I had to go to 39x21! Man where are the days of 55 miles at 19m/h? very far.
i did get myself to jump on the 53x18 for a few miles as I flet great about it. But boy did I pay on the last climb of the day that did not get recorded by my GPS tracker: 1 mile with passages over 5%. Ouch and welcome back 39x21!
But I love climbs. I have always like climbing and that paid off 2 years ago where I raced in cat 5 and finished 4th. Even though the shape is not there, I enjoyed climbing 4 good climbs today and I plan increasing on it as I train more.
so today was a great time. I ended up beingabout for 1.5h at around 25km/h which is not bad, but I don't care much about it. What I take out of this is that I am realizing I missed it, that I love it and I had great sensations.
I cannot wait to get out again!

If you look at the Huffington Post or Business Insider - two very popular media sites - their business model is really not to create original content. They curate content. They capture news as it comes, they elevate the story, add their own perspective and deliver it back to their audience. These companies are successful because they have skills, processes and technology to make it work.

• Skills: finding great content to share is not easy, you need to know where and how to find it. And then, when you have it in your hands, you need to have the skills to know what to do with it. The fact is, you can learn these skills.
• Technology: without the right platform, publishing is not an easy thing to do, or it's not as simple as it should be. But publishing platforms are changing fast and soon there will be a wide range of platforms to choose from.

Today we have a problem with "information overflow".
We deal with it on a daily basis. Everybody has become a publisher of some form. Whatever platform you use, Twitter, Facebook, a blog, emails, etc... people share content/media more than ever. They publish content.

If you think about it, this overflow of information is happening because it is easy to share online.

So what a complete publishing platform should do?

Allow anyone to become a publisher.It sounds silly but it's not simple to build a tool that anyone can use. make a solution simple to use but powerful is an extremely difficult task.

The publisher should own the content. Publishers put a lot of time and efforts to build content, they should own it and decide what to do with it at anytime.

Format content easily. The platform should have built-in features to help publishers, with:

• citing/referring the source,
• format posts easily as they would do in Office Word,
• add media (images/videos/embeds): format it, present it, tag it

Provide content suggestions. Allow a user to find content that is relevant and interesting. Many companies are focusing on this specific aspect, but any publishing platform should be able to provide some sort of content suggestions.

Archive posts and search-ability. Topic, List, Category pages, whatever you want to call it, publishers want to categorize their content so their audience can find and discover content.

Content should be delivered in creative formats. Not only should it look nice and clean, but it should remember how content publishing has changed: people want to see as much as they can as fast as they can. If i have 10 mn to read the news today, don't make me scroll down pages or paginate through pages.
Deliver content in a condensed format and let users scan through it, but yet, allow them to discover and participate (comment, rate, react, share). Tablet apps like Flipboard are popular because of the content delivery format and this is why the model is being reproduced. The next generation (I am talking kids) will not want to read blogs, a 'post after post'-like format, platforms need to lead the change, create new formats for content delivery.

Allow to distribute content easily. People live on many different social platforms today, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail/Google Plus, the platform should allow you to very easily distribute your content away. Tweet, Share, Post, Email newsletter, all this should be supported.

The platform should allow configuration, customization. Font styles, colors, background images, widgets/plugins, etc...

Offer content strategy and guidelines. Re-publishing content is not as simple as saving the URL and the title of the post. In order to be successful at building a community, an audience around a topic, there is things a publisher need to be aware of, techniques and strategies that work.

Build your own castle. And not a someone's else, definitely not someone's else business or company. If you are good at what you do, motivated and dedicated to learn and to make it work, then you should get all the rewards for it. Advertisers will pay you to be part of the adventure, your audience might want to pay you for your service, this is simple 101 business strategy, without its complexity.

This all started back in 2009 when Google quickly stroke a deal with Twitter to index tweets, and of course analyze it. Recently though, Google has stopped showing real time search from Twitter to probably - and that's just a guess that makes sense - leverage Google Plus sharing data really soon. The question is: will tweets affect Google algo in the long run or only Google Plus. In any case, this is a sign that for SEO purposes, it's really time to integrate the Google Plus share button to your sites in my opinion.

On refait le match sur Darkplanneur ! Fred Cavazza n'a pas épargné le petit monde de la curation, dans l'interview exclusive qu'il nous a donnée, avec en particulier cette petite phrase "le principe de curation en vogue en ce moment...

La curation s’inscrit dans la droite ligne de cette tendance, et se situe entre le bon vieux blog et les 140 caractères de Twitter : on sélectionne des contenus, qu’on peut joliment présenter et commenter.

La curation, et après ? Pour être franc, je pense qu’il ne s’agit que d’un « buzzword » qu’on se lassera d’entendre, mais dont les usages, déjà en route avant la folie de la curation, resteront.

D : Quelle est votre mission dans ce marché ? à quoi servez-vous ?
FC:Je suis un intermédiaire entre les pratiques qui se font à l'étranger et des annonceurs qui n'ont pas forcément le temps de s'intéresser à cela. Une espèce de facilitateur, une inspirateur... mais pas un curateur... terme en vogue ces temps ci. Pour moi la curation c'est voler le contenu des autres, le filtrer et le livrer à la place du détenteur premier. Pour moi il n'y a pas de valeur ajoutée.

D : Est ce que le concept de la curation fonctionne ?
FC:J'en doute. C'est très subjectif... comment , par exemple, choisir une personne qui soit performante sur le thème de la gamification ? comment juger de la pertinence des nformations venant de cette personne ? et comment lui confier la mission suivante : "collecter toutes les sources ,les nettoyer et sélectionner ce qui est utile" ... il y a une vraie responsabilité dans cela ! Mais c'est un métier qui existe depuis toujours, on les appelle les documentalistes. Je doute que ceux qui curent y trouvent un intérêt, ils finiront par se lasser parce qu'il ne créé pas de valeur ajoutée. La curation n'est que de la veille gratuite et cela débouche au mieux sur une prestation de veille payante.

On ne peut pas dire que l’accueil de la blogosphère a été très chaleureux en témoignent quelques articles mis en lumière dans la présentation où le curateur est perçu pour résumer comme un fainéant égocentrique 2.0. Je ne partage pas tout à fait le même point de vue même si force est de reconnaître qu’il n’y a pas de curateur sans créateur et que les deux peuvent tout à fait cohabiter et se rendre finalement service l’un à l’autre

  • archivage des liens (filtrage de l’information selon la pertinence) et diffusion des liens par microblogging,
  • par des systèmes graphiques (comme Pearltrees),
  • avec un soupçon de blogs et de Tumblr ne correspond pas à ce procédé ?

L'archivage des liens est tres interessant, un sujet sur lequel je vais m'interesser dans les prochaines semaines. Les flux RSS ne sont que la pour aggreger l'information, et le volume peut etre enorme. Trouver le moyen de faire resoortir que l'information pertinente et unique est l'objectif...

I love Californication. I like it mostly because David Duchovny in the main character and since X-Filesi liked him as an actor. I don't know if the show drove him to sex rehab, but it can't be helping him... if you watch the show, then you know what i'm talking about. But it's good, it's edgy and different, only what you can get out of paid channels like HBO or SHOW.
