Maybe it shouldn't, but not to lie, this is not easy. Or maybe it's not the question that is diffcult or challenging, but that your product/service offers more than one way to describe it.

My feeling is, most entrepreneurs out there went, are going or will go through the same thing.

Over the past couple weeks, we have been trying to define Shareist internally: what it is, what it does and how to say this in one short and precise sentence.

You'd think that easy, but it is not.

When you are working on a product like we have developed, in a trending space which moves fast and where a lot of new and similar products come out every day or so, you tend to describe your product as something that's already out there, usually an already-successful well known product or service.

This is not a bad idea: look at Yammer, the "Twitter" for intranet use, well there you go, now you understand what Yammer is, even if you had never heard of them before i mentioned it.

On the other end, you don't want to narrow yourself down to being a copycat of another company. There is no problem with that either, as long as you make the service better or offer a different angle I guess...

But should you have to describe what our product/service does one way or not another? Should your product/service flexible enough that people could use it more than one defined way? I think you should "have to" customize the definition of what your product/service does based on the listening audience.

This means it does work for a lot of different people, or means that people can find their own way to use it.

This means we are more brainstorming to do :)

With total immersion brewing, the AeroPress produces uniform extraction for the ultimate in full coffee flavor. To brew a double espresso or 10-ounce cup of coffee: Place a microfilter in the bottom cap of the AeroPress chamber and twist the cap tightly closed. Place two scoops of ground coffee from the included AeroPress scoop into the chamber. Stand the chamber on a sturdy mug, then proceed to pour hot water into the top of the chamber (175 degrees F is optimal). Stir the water and coffee with the included paddle for about 10 seconds. Insert the plunger into the chamber and gently press down about a quarter of an inch and continue to maintain that pressure for 20 to 30 seconds (gentle pressure is the key to easy AeroPressing). This will result in a double espresso. To make an Americano, simply top off the mug with hot water, or add hot milk for a creamy latte. The AeroPress can press from 1 to 4 scoops, and each scoop from the included AeroPress scoop makes the equivalent of a single espresso or 5 ounces of American coffee. Fill the chamber with hot water to the number corresponding to the number of scoops.

The Honda CB750 is an honored beast and is very popular among those owners who are never quite finished customizing their bike. This particular example is owned by Jon over at motoHangar. There is quite a list of modifications to this bike, some of the highlights include a tail off of a Kawasaki KZ, wrapped pipes, a custom low profile seat, powder coated wheels, classic Firestone rubber and a headlight off of a Suzuki Trials bike.

A lot of platforms out there like Tumblr, have democratized the process of becoming a publisher. Curation - a process to find and share interesting content - helps people publishing content, and has become a buzzword.

If you look at the Huffington Post or Business Insider - two very popular media sites - their business model is really not to create original content. They curate content. They capture news as it comes, they elevate the story, add their own perspective and deliver it back to their audience. These companies are successful because they have skills, processes and technology to make it work.

• Skills: finding great content to share is not easy, you need to know where and how to find it. And then, when you have it in your hands, you need to have the skills to know what to do with it. The fact is, you can learn these skills.
• Technology: without the right platform, publishing is not an easy thing to do, or it's not as simple as it should be. But publishing platforms are changing fast and soon there will be a wide range of platforms to choose from.

Today we have a problem with "information overflow". We deal with it on a daily basis. Everybody has become a publisher of some form. Whatever platform you use, Twitter, Facebook, a blog, emails, etc... people share content/media more than ever. They publish content.

If you think about it, this overflow of information is happening because it is easy to share online.

So what a complete publishing platform should do?

Allow anyone to become a publisher.It sounds silly but it's not simple to build a tool that anyone can use. make a solution simple to use but powerful is an extremely difficult task.

The publisher should own the content. Publishers put a lot of time and efforts to build content, they should own it and decide what to do with it at anytime.

Format content easily. The platform should have built-in features to help publishers, with:

• citing/referring the source,
• format posts easily as they would do in Office Word,
• add media (images/videos/embeds): format it, present it, tag it

Provide content suggestions. Allow a user to find content that is relevant and interesting. Many companies are focusing on this specific aspect, but any publishing platform should be able to provide some sort of content suggestions.

Archive posts and search-ability. Topic, List, Category pages, whatever you want to call it, publishers want to categorize their content so their audience can find and discover content.

Content should be delivered in creative formats. Not only should it look nice and clean, but it should remember how content publishing has changed: people want to see as much as they can as fast as they can. If i have 10 mn to read the news today, don't make me scroll down pages or paginate through pages. Deliver content in a condensed format and let users scan through it, but yet, allow them to discover and participate (comment, rate, react, share). Tablet apps like Flipboard are popular because of the content delivery format and this is why the model is being reproduced. The next generation (I am talking kids) will not want to read blogs, a 'post after post'-like format, platforms need to lead the change, create new formats for content delivery.

Allow to distribute content easily. People live on many different social platforms today, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail/Google Plus, the platform should allow you to very easily distribute your content away. Tweet, Share, Post, Email newsletter, all this should be supported.

The platform should allow configuration, customization. Font styles, colors, background images, widgets/plugins, etc...

Offer content strategy and guidelines. Re-publishing content is not as simple as saving the URL and the title of the post. In order to be successful at building a community, an audience around a topic, there is things a publisher need to be aware of, techniques and strategies that work.

Build your own castle. And not a someone's else, definitely not someone's else business or company. If you are good at what you do, motivated and dedicated to learn and to make it work, then you should get all the rewards for it. Advertisers will pay you to be part of the adventure, your audience might want to pay you for your service, this is simple 101 business strategy, without its complexity.

Les outils de curation, tels scoop.it, snip.it, storify ou pearltrees intègrent et apportent des outils de veille plus ouverts et personnalisables. D'où leur utilité jusqu'ici.

Dès lors, avec l'arrivée des pages Google+, on peut se poser la question de l'intérêt de ces outils de curation. D'autant plus que ceux-ci sont des "intermédiaires" quelquefois agaçant pour le lecteur.

Point tres important. Il est vrai qu'il ne faudra que tres peu de temps pour que Google offre une version simple et efficasse de publishing pour les marques et ses utiisateurs du service Google Plus. La prochaine etape pour Google et de joindre les fonctionalites les plus utilises de Blogger et les plus simples de Google Plus/Buzz, et leur service de curation sera en place. Ajoutez a cela quelques outils de formatage et de distribution, et voila.
